Key Mortgage Advice Supports Rugratz Rugby Programme For A Second Year

Key Mortgage Advice Supports Rugratz Rugby Programme

At Key Mortgage Advice, we are proud to continue our support for the Fylde Rugby Community Foundations Rugratz Rugby programme, now entering its second year of partnership. This initiative has grown stronger each year, offering young children in our community the chance to enjoy rugby in a safe and welcoming environment.

Expanding Opportunities For Local Children

This summer, Rugratz Rugby has expanded its sessions to two community venues:

  • Fylde Rugby Club in Lytham St Annes
  • Garstang Sports and Community Hub

With this growth, even more children across the Fylde and Wyre areas have been able to take part in active, positive experiences that inspire a love of sport from an early age.

Since September, 86 children aged between 3 and 5 have joined Rugratz for their first run with rugby. These sessions not only introduce them to the sport but also help them build confidence, improve coordination and make new friends.

Lasting Pathways Through Grassroots Rugby

We are especially proud that 26 of those children have already progressed into the mini and junior sections at Fylde RFC and Garstang RUFC. This shows the long-term impact grassroots sport can have, creating clear pathways for young players to continue their journey.

Our sponsorship has also helped ensure that these opportunities remain inclusive. Each block of sessions provides five free places for families in need, making sure financial circumstances are never a barrier to participation.

Why We Support Rugratz Rugby

For our team at Key Mortgage Advice, supporting Rugratz Rugby goes beyond sponsorship. As a business rooted in the local community, we believe in giving back and helping to create strong foundations both in housing and in life. Just like the values at the heart of grassroots rugby:

  • Teamwork
  • Resilience
  • Inclusion
  • Personal growth

Are principles we champion when working with our clients.

It’s rewarding to see children as young as 3 developing new skills, growing in confidence and forming friendships in a nurturing setting. Knowing that our support contributes to this, and that families who might otherwise miss out can take part, makes this partnership especially meaningful.

Looking Ahead

We want to thank everyone involved in Rugratz Rugby, including the coaches, volunteers, parents and most of all the children for making this programme such a success. We are excited to continue this journey and to see many more little rugby stars in the making.
